- Email address
- Display name
- Authentication credentials (passwords are hashed; we cannot read them)
- Social sign-in provider identifiers when you choose Google or Apple sign-in
2.2 Plant and usage data
- Plant names, photos, locations, and care settings you enter
- Soil-check and watering history
- Push-notification tokens from Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) or Apple Push Notification service (APNs)
2.3 Device and diagnostic data
- Crash logs and basic analytics to improve stability and performance
- Device type, OS version, and app version (non-identifiable where possible)
- Approximate location (city/country) when you explicitly choose "Locate me" for a plant
2.4 Payment information
- Water Planter does not store credit-card details.
- Subscription status is managed by Apple App Store, Google Play Store, or RevenueCat.
- We receive only your subscription tier and active-entitlement status from these services.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the data we collect to:
- Provide plant watering reminders and soil-check scheduling
- Improve our machine-learning recommendations (with your explicit opt-in)
- Send push notifications for watering reminders and account security alerts
- Process and restore subscription purchases
- Diagnose crashes and improve app performance
- Comply with legal obligations
4. Data Storage and Security
- Data is stored on encrypted cloud servers using industry-standard security practices.
- Images are stored in private object storage and served through signed/time-limited public URLs where applicable.
- Passwords are hashed using Argon2.
- JWT access and refresh tokens are rotated and stored securely on your device.
- We use TLS/SSL for all data in transit.

- Account and plant data: retained while your account is active. You may delete your account at any time from the app settings.
- Deleted-account data: permanently removed within 30 days, except where longer retention is required by law.
- Crash and diagnostic logs: typically retained for 90 days.
9. International Data Transfers
Your data may be processed in countries other than your own. We use appropriate safeguards, including standard contractual clauses and encryption, for any international transfers.
